Project Name: Bus Maintenance and Service FacilityVE Study

Project Description: This project included a 5-day VE Study with a team of 9 people. The study provided an evaluation for new and expanded facility capacity for the fueling, servicing, repair (component, unit and body) and maintenance to an increasing fleet of buses that were changing from gasoline, diesel and CNG fueled vehicles to CNG by the year 2000. The VE team generated 1244 ideas during the Speculation Phase of the VE study, 35 developed VE proposals, and 4 Partially Developed Ideas. Total proposed savings ($6,042,602) were distributed among trade categories of: Civil, Architectural, Structural, Mechanical, and Electrical. The study developed a life cycle savings of $620,000 for the project.
Paragon's Role: As a Design Consultant, Paragon provided Civil, Architectural, Structural and Cost Analysis support for the VE Study. The support services included providing staff for the VE Study Team, a pre-study evaluation and developing portions of the study report.
