George Bush Turnpike (PGBT), also known as State Highway (S.H.) 190T, is
a 6-lane divided tollway approximately 26.4 miles long which extends from
Interstate Highway (I.H.) 635 in Irving to S.H. 78 in Garland. PGBT is divided
into 4 segments and 14 subsections with individual design and construction
contracts for each subsection. PGBT Segments I through III are complete and Segment V on the east side of DFW Airport will be completed in January 2002. Design of PGBT Segment IV, which connects PGBT at IH 635/SH 161 in Irving to PGBT at IH 35E/Trinity Mills Rd. in Lewisville, is 90% complete with construction scheduled to be finished in July, 2004. The owner of PGBT is the North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) and HNTB Corporation is the General Engineering Consultant (GEC). |
