| Project Description: | The
Dallas-Fort Worth region has been determined by the Environmental Protection
Agency as a "non-attainment" area for air quality standard designated in
the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. The Congestion Mitigation and Air
Quality (CMAQ) Improvement Program is intended to mitigate regional traffic
congestion at numerous major intersections and improve the air quality.
Project includes traffic analysis, design of geometric and traffic control signal improvements, environmental assessments, geotechnical investigations and structural design of retaining walls. The improvements include both TxDOT "on-system" and "off-system" design at 22 intersection locations in and around the City of Dallas. |
| Paragon's Role: | As
a Design Consultant, Paragon provided services for three CMAQ Projects:
CMAQ-4 Project #96010 Paragon was the Prime Consultant for four intersections within the City of Dallas. Paragon performed traffic analysis and traffic signal design assessments, geotechnical investigations, and structural design of retaining walls. Paragon prepared two (2) sets of construction plans, including one for two on-system intersections, and one for two off-system intersections. CMAQ-7 Project #96015 Paragon was sub consultant to PBS&J for thirteen intersections within the City of Grand Prairie. Paragon coordinated the utilities and prepared cost estimates during this phase. CMAQ-29 Project #96021 Paragon was sub consultant to EarthTech in this project for five intersections within the city of Dallas. Paragon provided design services for storm drainage, traffic control plans, and signing and pavement marking for PS&E (both preliminary and final). |
