Project Name: Interim Staffing for Capital Development Program
Location: DFW International Airport, Texas
Project Description: DFW has implemented a comprehensive Capital Development Program (CDP), a 6-year program that will invest $2.6 billion into the Airport's infrastructure resulting in a new Automated People Mover (APM) System, a new International Terminal D, Hyatt Hotel and Parking Garage, a new West Runway and supporting airfield improvements, roadways and infrastructure. DFW International Airport, through a long term Capital Development Program (CDP) Contract, selected Paragon to be a strategic partner in managing this program.
Paragon's Role: The two largest components of the CDP, the Automated People Mover and International Terminal D, are presently under construction, and are scheduled for completion in the first quarter of 2005. Presented with a tremendous challenge of aggressive schedules, tight budgets and the need for enhanced coordination between involved designers, contractors and administrator's, DFW brought necessary staff from the many design consultant firms. DFW selected Paragon as a Prime Consultant in this effort. In the first year of this Program, Paragon has assembled a team of over 85 design and construction management professionals to supplement DFW International Airport in their Program Management efforts. Paragon is providing comprehensive program management services. Our design management services include Mechanical, Electrical, and Civil Design Project Management, Code Compliance Plan Review, CADD Management, and Project Web Site Hosting. Other staff duties include Contract Administration, CSI Specification Preparation, Construction Management, Document Control, Telecommunication Technical Support, and Scheduling. Field duties include quality assurance and code inspection for the Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, Civil and Structural disciplines.

Paragon has demonstrated that we can assemble and lead a team of design and construction management professionals to meet a variety of owner needs. While Paragon is supplying over 60% of the work, Paragon recognized when specialty sub consultants were needed to take on specific aspects of this large program. Keeping the owner's best interest in mind, Paragon called on friends in the industry such as companies that specialize in providing CSI Certified Specification Writing services, Building Code Compliance Specialist, IT Support Specialists, and Fire Safety Specialists. This has allowed the owner to keep the project on schedule and utilize the best talents in the specialty fields to do the work.
